5th time's a charm... this story is really fun to draw fan art for... for me, anyway :D
So, this is based on a story written by :iconmysteriousbob777: *MysteriousBob777, and i think it's a really good story. Here's a [link] to the prologue.

Anyway, i posted a deviation similar to this one about a year ago, where i photoshopped Light Yagami into this same character [link] . I recieved the following comment on that deviation:

"What did the person come from? Did you use a different image or just stylize a picture? I doubt that you drew it, no offense, it's just not really your style. And it's too detailed to be your work"
So now, if that person (coughavicough) recognizes this comment, i have to ask them: WHAT NOW, B****!? :evillaugh:

Ahem... so anyway, now that i've improved in my drawing and photoshopping skills so much, i thought i'd try to draw this image myself. Yay! No more Light Yagami! (btw, when i made the original image, i didn't hate Light as much... i didn't know he'd kill L at the time)

Oh, and Avi, i tried to keep the ball of light as close to your original image as possible, but if i made it too solid like the original image, it would block out too much of his sleeve, so i tried to find a happy medium between your art and mine :D.

Yay, you can draw the entire character by yourself now!! :D

The ball of light did remind me of the original right away, though it's not as intensely glowy. But that's a stylistic detail of no real consequence. Perhaps the only thing is that it's almost too spherical, which was a problem with my version as well.

The pose of his hand is just awesome, and by and large it's pretty good. I have to wonder what is up with the empty space off to the left and at the top, but otherwise I am very impressed.

I don't suppose this is your way of telling me where you want me to focus my efforts (instead of TMiS or WS)?
